Barack Obama Finally Throws Reverend Jeremiah Wright Jr Under The Bus During Special North Carolina News Conference

Tuesday, April 29, 2008
FoxNews.com brings us this report and it starts off like this... Barack Obama, declaring “that’s enough,” denounced Tuesday as “appalling” and “ridiculous” comments made in the last few days by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. ...In a press conference in North Carolina, the Illinois senator used his strongest language to date to condemn Wright’s controversial sermons, which have remained a burden on his campaign since they became national news a month ago. Wright spoke Monday at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. ...“I am outraged by the comments that were made, and saddened over the spectacle that we saw yesterday,” Obama said... “The person I saw yesterday was not the person that I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe they ended up giving comfort to those who prey on hate,” he said...

Pressure’s on Hillary Clinton to Win and Win Big in Pennsylvania

Pressure’s on Hillary Clinton
To Win and Win Big
In Pennsylvania

* The Pennsylvania Primary *
Tuesday
, April 22, 2008

ABCNews.com has this story out today and it begins like this... After six weeks of political backbiting, Pennsylvania voters have their say today in a primary vote that isn't expected to clarify what has become a dragged-out Democratic nomination battle between Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y. With Clinton leading in polls in the state, her expected win could fuel questions about why Obama hasn't been able to sew up the nomination, despite having more money, having won more states and a lead in the popular vote and pledged delegates, according to ABC News' delegate scorecard... However, Democrats say, a small victory by Clinton today won't be enough to turn momentum in her favor. Any win by her, they say, must be by a large margin of victory...

Clinton and Obama Lock in Iraq Positions during Pennsylvania Debate Wednesday Night

During April 16th Pennsylvania Debate, both Democrats left little room for changing their minds on Iraq
...
USNews.com brings us this report today and it goes in part like this... Both said they would begin withdrawals of U.S. troops soon after taking office and would move quickly to end the war. They didn't leave themselves much room to change their minds even if the military situation were altered or U.S. commanders gave a different recommendation. This could make it more difficult for each of them to be flexible during the general-election campaign and, more important, as commander in chief... "Only through our commitment to withdraw will the Iraqis begin to do what they have failed to do all of these years," Clinton said. "We don't know what will happen if we withdraw. We know what won't happen if we don't." Obama said, "The president sets the mission. The generals and our troops carry out that mission."...

Support Our Troops & Their Mission - Sign The Petition Today

The American people deserve the truth from their leaders. Doing the right thing in the heat of a political campaign is not always the easiest thing. But when 4,000 Americans have given their lives so that America does not suffer the worst consequences of our failure in Iraq, it is a necessary thing. In such a grave matter, we must put the nation’s interests before our own ambitions.

My opponents’ calls for an immediate withdrawal, regardless of the consequences, is a reckless and dangerous move that would threaten the long term security of our country. Leadership is not about bowing to the political pressures, it is about thinking through the consequences and having the experience and judgment to make the tough decisions.

Senators Clinton and Obama will surely echo the sentiments of their extreme liberal supporters and call for a pre-emptive withdrawal from Iraq. The American people deserve better. I encourage both candidates to move beyond empty and destructive rhetoric and elevate the debate to a level that the country deserves. There are tough decisions ahead and America deserves leaders that are up to the challenge.

As president, I will ensure that our troops come home victorious in this war that is part of the larger struggle against radical Islamic extremism and will continue to make keeping our nation secure my highest priority.

-John McCain
